NaBloPoMo Prompt #4

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I think I would change my lack of faith in myself. I tend to underestimate myself and as a result, I think other people underestimate me, too. I need to have more confidence that I know what I’m doing, I know how to get it done, I know I have the strength, and I can make my dreams happen. 🙂

NaBloPoMo Prompt #3

Tell us about your writing space. Where do you write your blog posts?

I’ve been known to write pretty much anywhere. I’ve even been trapped at a train crossing and jotted down a quick line or two but the most likely place is my home office. I adore it. When we redid the house, I picked a bright inspiring red for the paint. I have writing and drawing books all over the shelves. Comics, too. There’s a box for my current knitting/crocheting (a writer’s block tool for me) and of course excellent speakers for music. 🙂

Every once in awhile, I post from work when I have a free moment. Which is unlikely since I work with the public but it’s been known to happen. XD

NaBloPoMo Prompt #2

Who is your favourite character of all time?

This is a very loaded question. I mean, favorite character from what? Books? TV? Movies? Comics? How does one choose?

To even broach being my favorite, the character would have to be pretty damn awesome. Like the entire crew of Firefly, awesome. Patrick Stewart, awesome. And that’s pretty damn hard since I’ve read a great many books with characters I may have loved but do some pretty damn stupid stuff (I’m talking to you Rachael Morgan). But on the whole, the character and the story has to stick with you and for that, there are just too many people to mention.

Playing Movie Catch Up – Saw Franchise

Seeing as how Halloween is over, you may wonder why I made an effort to plow through all the movies. Mostly because I actually enjoy this series and missed the final chapter and I had to wait till the kiddo wasn’t around to watch them. So, in between loads of laundry I watched them all on my DVDR.

My brain still hurts. That much gore all in one sitting made me so tired. But I was VERY satisfied with the way the story ended and sorta pissed that the effects looked so damn fake in the last movie. I mean the blood was PINK for gods sake… >_< But at least it’s all done and I can say I’ve seen them all.

I gotta say overall the series is pretty good. I liked the writing in it and holy hell, did I ever cringe from the yuckyness… ;___; And now I can cross them off my list of movies that it bugs me I haven’t seen.

Next up is R.I.P.D. Yes, I am aware everyone has said it sucks but everyone also said After Earth sucked and I honestly didn’t think it was so bad.

NaBloPoMo Prompt #1

If you found one million dollars in the morning and had to spend it by nightfall, what would you do with the money?

I would pay off ALL THE THINGS!

I am not even kidding. I despise owing people or institutions money. The first thing I would do is just pay off everything. Then I would invest wisely so I would never have to owe anyone anything ever again.

Then I would also never scramble for overtime at work again. 😀 That would give me more time with my kid and my writing! That alone is worth way more than a million dollars. 🙂

Brace yourselves… NaNo is coming…

Do you hear that? That is the sound of millions of writers revving their creative engines for the novel blitz of the year. As I am a writer with too many balls in the air as is, I will not be participating. But I will be doing NaNoPloMo over at BlogHer instead because anyone who reads this blog knows I have issues with consistent posting. 9_9 Hopefully this will jog me to post about whatever fool thing crosses my mind rather than thinking “Eh, nobody’s interested in that.”

FYI, I will only be doing this on WordPress as you can only apply one blog to the list (I’m assuming).

So, is anyone else doing NaBloPoMo? Or will you be going for broke writing the next great American novel? 😉

Last Post of Nablopomo; What I’ve Learned.

I can’t exactly place whether or not I’ve learned something tangible from NaBloPoMo. I certainly have more readers than I did a month ago and that’s always a plus. One thing is for certain; it’s a hell of a lot easier than NaNoWriMo and I am MUCH more pleased with the content I produced. The novel I tried (and failed) to complete a couple of years ago needed so much rewriting, I might as well have taken my time and got it done properly the first time. I suppose there is something to be said for just throwing words at a page and many great novels have come out of it but it’s just not for me.

I do think I would do NaBloPoMo again next year. ^_^ And I will try to update more often than I was prior to this month. 😉

NaBloPoMo Prompt: Last thing I do before bed.

The last thing I do before I go to sleep is make sure my alarm is set before I nod off. I make sure the phone is plugged in and charged enough in case of a power outage and make sure the time is set to wake me with enough time to let me hit the snooze at least twice. XD

Mommy Monday, Word Goal Update, and An Announcement

I am glad to say that I’ve been doing pretty decently with my word goals. I didn’t write for the holiday but I believe I’ve more than made up for it over the next few days.

I have discovered the joys of having a kid in school because on my days off, I can walk her to school (walking is great inspiration for me and my #1 writer’s block weapon), write till it’s time to pick her up, and have time to play around with her once she gets home. It’s a win/win! Mommy gets to write and my daughter gets a happy mommy. ^_^

I am in a zone here which also translates into a fervent desire to brush up on my writing skills. I’ve gotten great reviews on what I’ve finished so far, but I feel I need to keep refining my style in order to keep from becoming stagnant. As I’ve alluded to here and here, I will need to be writing a wider range of materials. Needless to say, I took that offer to write for my friend’s new company. It’s gonna  be awesome to work with someone who loves and respects my work but will also kick my ass and expect the best.

And who is this mysterious person? Not really a shocker. I’ve been a fan and friend of Ragdoll Comics for some time (some NWS images there, it’s a horror comic). This doesn’t mean my stories won’t be available anymore or that EVERYTHING I write will be turned into a comic. What will probably happen is my stories will be available in illustrated and non-illustrated editions. You pick whatever you like. ^_^

I am very excited for this and I hope for the best! 😀

Uhoh…

I see x-mas decorations all over. Even my husband has begun to coat the house in lights and put the tree up.

LET THE HOLIDAY CHAOS BEGIN!!!!
