I entered the giveaway over at Confessions of a Modern Witch and here’s the cool stuff I won!

Thank you so much for this awesome stuff!! 😀

The fandoms I’m most familiar with in this box are Trigun and FLCL. Both are among some of my favorite anime series. One Punch Man is pervasive so you can’t help but have heard of it The others I’ve never heard of until now.
The shirt is amazing but any white shirts make me nervous. I’m always afraid I’ll ruin it somehow with soy sauce or wine. And that FLCL print is going up on my desk. I am determined to have the most geeky desk in my library.

This came with gloves… That is so frikkin strange.
The doc was a cute character and I like the tiny figure of him. Despite the fact it’s a Jayne shirt and not a Simon shirt, I enjoy this one. I can’t think of another type of garment befitting the doctor since he sure isn’t the t-shirt type…
This isn’t the coolest crate but it is still worth the value. I’m just enjoying all the fantastic collectibles.

This month’s crate was really hyped up and it was worth the wait. The nail color is this ethereal blue, the jewelry is lovely, the mug is awesome. I wouldn’t mind other cups or mugs from this box in the future (maybe one of those BPA free water bottles?).
I am happy with all of this and with the added mug, this is a good value. Any sort of dishes with a Disney character on them can be expensive. And the design is classy. Peter Pan isn’t a fandom I’ve ever been more than passively interested in but this is some nice stuff! Keep knocking it out of the park, Kal-Elle!

They must be listening to my suggestions in the surveys because YAY! They sent a journal and a cool pen. Those seem like must have items for a box themed around Harry Potter.
It is also fortuitous that I got some bookends. I’ve been needing some but could never quite find ones that suited me. And they have some weight to them; they are not cheap plastic ones (which I will break…) so they will likely be able to stand up to those huge (pretentious) classic literature books I keep around because I’m an English geek.
The design of the t-shirt reminds me of Bioshock in art style. Fine be me, those games are amazing. I have noticed the fabric of the shirts; they are very soft and comfortable. A lot of shirts can be stiff but these are comfortable enough to sleep in.
As for the pin, I think it will go amazingly well with the scarves I’ve gotten from previous crates. I love how the stuff I’m getting is slowly building a nerdy wardrobe. Those scarves, the dress and purse, all the jewelry I’m getting from Kal-Elle, and all of it even fit for me to wear to work! I absolutely love it.

I don’t have a photo of it (mostly because I usually don’t care about the box) but this month came with a nifty display side for the burger recipes.
On that note; THIS BOX CAME WITH RECIPES! 😀 I only recently got into Bob’s Burgers (I was watching it while I was in the hospital) so I think that’s a super cool item. Not as cool as that shirt because I’m a shameless nostalgic fangirl for the original TMNT cartoon.
As for the Rick figure… Is it bad that I expected WORSE than just a middle finger behind that huge red bar? I thought he’d be dual wielding dildos or something. From what little I’ve seen of the show; flipping someone off is the LEAST Rick has done. It’s a nice figure and reminded me that I do need to give that series another try but only after I’m done with Bob’s Burgers and Black Mirror.

While the bowl and statue are cool, my favorite is the shirt. It is a great design and it’s SOOOOO comfortable. I get stares and complements every time I wear it.
My problem with getting dishes is they are not microwave safe and sometimes can’t even be used for hot foods. So it’s a fancy cereal bowl… If I ate cereal more often that’d be great but I’d like to be able to put all types of food in the dishwear they provide in these boxes. It may be nitpicky of me to say so but it is what it is.

Not being the biggest fan to Spider Man (I just never really got into it), I wasn’t as excited to get this one as others. That is, until I saw the contents. I love when this subscription includes back products. Back when I got the Game of Thrones box, the entire thing was infused with the smell of the bath salts and although it’s a product with only one use, it is nice to experience it.
But logically, something you can use over and over is preferred…
If I had to pick a favorite, I would say the headphone/change purse. It’s cute and it just happened to be something I needed!

Obviously, since I’m in recovery, I’ve been “blessed” with ample time to write. I have a short story that’s been giving me WAY more trouble than it should be and editing on Lost Brother to do. Other than trying to keep as active as I can (as the advice on this site said to do), there is no excuse not to do it.
I really am grateful for that recovery link because I was NOT informed to leave the steri-strips on my stitches until they come off on their own. Of course, I haven’t touched them but I did wonder what the heck I was supposed to do about them. Other than keeping the wounds dry and clean, I have not been messing with them.
It’s also good to know that there will still be some residual pain in my left shoulder as the air that’s left behind moves around and eventually goes away. For a second there, I was freaked out there was another hole and I’d have to go back.
I’m a week out from the surgery now and I’m back to some solid food. Ice cream and really soft pasta stayed down without any problems and I’m able to walk decent distances before I feel like my stitches are pulling.
To me, that’s the worst part of this; the helplessness. I’m so used to doing everything myself and being laid up and unable to walk at more than a snail’s pace, is KILLING ME.
And the itching. Gods, do the healing wounds ever itch.
Why am I posting about this? Well, there was a lot of information I had to dig out of forums and medical sites that I didn’t learn directly from the doctor or nurses. Of course recovering from surgeries like this is very individualistic but the things I find out may benefit someone else.
I will try not to be too gross about what I find out.
