Today’s Workouts: Moving around more

In addition to the desk bike, I had to pop over to the store to get the ingredients to make that steak sandwich again. The kid really liked it and avocados were on sale.

I thought that doing the bike and talking that walk would be too much but I was ok! And getting in those extra steps is always good. I just feel a little sore from the kettlebell yesterday and carrying the heavy grocery bag on my shoulder on the walk back. I saw some canned stuff on sale and the kid has been whining that I haven’t made meat sauce in awhile. So, I guess that’s how I’ll be spending my weekend.

Today’s Workout: Bad Timing

wp-1654022811279

I was asked to make a gift that needed to be mailed right away so, of course I pick a 90 degree day to walk to the post office on my lunch break. It was NOT fun but once I’d cooled off and actually eaten, I felt ok!

I’ll post what I made once the package gets to it’s destination but I do have a few items to add to my shop that I’ll be posting very soon. And I have plenty of reviews to make up for so the blog will be poppin.

Dahlia 3 has gone through the final red pen stage and I’ll be posting the first two parts on Patreon once they’re polished and as soon as I know a release date, I’ll let you guys know.

Today’s Workouts: Multitasking Fail

wp-1652886349923

You can tell from the heart points that I never really got my heart rate up to where I was actually burning any fat. I was talking to people, checking orders, emails, messages, all sorts of stuff for work while I was trying to pedal so, I wasn’t going as hard as I could consistently. It’s better than sitting but not by much.

I did make a trip to the farmer’s market on my lunch break so I could hit up the little Italian stand for broccoli rabe ravioli and small batch marinara to have for dinner tonight. I spent more than I wanted to (because they also had small blocks of parmesan cheese and I needed some for Caesar salads) but I haven’t been to this market since before COVID and I want to support it.

I didn’t take any pictures of it before I snarfed it down. You’ll just have to imagine it.

Today’s Workout: Triple Threat

In addition to using the under desk peddler, I had to walk up to the store to get hot sauce (my kid is obsessed) and some sesame oil (that’s getting expensive so not buying that for awhile…), I picked up the kettle bell after a super light dinner. My only cheat was a small portion of Tipsy Scoop for dessert. Raspberry Limoncello Sorbet, if you’re curious. Very nice as a cap to the evening.

I am really feeling these arm workouts. I think I’m back in the head space where the soreness is letting me know I’m doing a good thing for my body. The sad part is I’d skipped weight training for so long, I have a moment where I think “Wait, why am I sore again?” before my stupid brain makes the logistical leap.

All I need to do is my 50 squats and stretch before bed and the day is done! I have the feeling with more days like this I’ll get back on track.

Today’s Workout: And an affordable dinner.

Since I am taking care of a teenager who did not see a bag of chips and a jar of salsa as a snack but as a meal (I am still dumbfounded they finished the whole thing) I used my lunchtime to walk over to the store to see if I can find some on sale. It was a beautiful day, I didn’t even need a sweater so, I had a nice quick walk. And, I was able to replenish my supplies.

I made chicken thighs over the weekend so I chopped one up and put in a tortilla with some cheese. I got the tortillas for 2 for $5, I got the salsa 2 for $4, the cheese for 2 for $4, and the chips for 2 for $5. I don’t math so it’s just a filling cheap meal, okay? And to spice things up, I sprinkled Tajin in the salsa.

Is a plate of carbs and cheese healthy? Not really… But hey, it was quick, tasty, enjoyable, and I didn’t break the bank at the grocery store. And heck, I likely burned off half the cheese walking to the store.

If I can keep the kid from eating the chips and salsa in one sitting, it will last awhile, too.

Today’s Workout: Lunch Walk

I had a random craving for some carbs and cheese so I went to the store on my lunch break to get some crushed tomatoes and mozzarella for dinner. Luckily for me, both items were on sale. A shame I didn’t have any cabernet to add to the sauce but this wasn’t a simmer for an hour type of evening. This was a get that food cooked in 30 minutes so I can go up to my office and write kind of day.

It was enough to satisfy my craving but it reminded me that I should batch cook some sauce at some point. And balanced out with a salad for lunch, I had a good caloric day! Even with nibbling on those homemade chips I made.

Those are addicting for me, now.

Today’s Workout: Extra Cardio

Since I had to run to the store on my lunch break, I figured I’d count that as a workout for today. I had some quick leftovers for lunch so I had the time. Plus, it was a nice day! Even though the wind was a little cold.

I haven’t been cooking my lunch at work lately just because I’m out of the meat I usually use. My Butcher Box is coming up so I can’t wait to make my usual lunches. In the meantime, I’ve been over cooking dinner and prepping lunch as I plate the food. I am experimenting with what I get from my Misfit Market (that’s saving me some money on veggies, for sure) so I usually end up with something fairly healthy. I’ll see about posting more photos of my meals. I usually forget and just snarf down the food so I can move on to the next task.

Today’s Workout: Bad Morning

wp-1646234683447

On my way to work today, my car decided to flash the check engine light and power down on the frikkin busy main road. Luckily, there weren’t any cars near me and I was able to pull over and call AAA for a tow. But, seeing as how I’m gonna get saddled with a bill to fix whatever the hell went wrong with my car, I walked home instead of spending money on an Uber.

Fingers crossed this repair doesn’t obliterate my savings account.

Today’s Workout: Back on my feet!

wp-1630585290389.png

I did it! Sorta… I got up earlier but not as early as I wanted. I was able to get in a powerwalk and prep lunch and dinner so my calories were planned out for the rest of the day

It felt good to get on the treadmill again. I’m gonna work my way back up to form and finish C25K before the end of the year. I’m hoping running will get easier as I drop more weight. Less stress on my knees and ankles could help me level up to C210K much easier.

My weight hasn’t moved but I’m coming up on Shark Week so that’s normal. I’m probably retaining a bunch of water due to hormones and craving more salt. I’ll have to be patient about the scale moving in the right direction again.

Mommy Monday – Lazy family update

This weekend was just me and the kiddo. It was kinda surreal to be honest. o_o The Hubbz went to visit his mother out of state to see how she’s doing. The news on that front is she’s dong as well as she can with stage 3 lung cancer. We’ll be going to see her all together next weekend.

But, yes; an entire weekend alone with my kid was strange. But I learned some things:

1. Dominos online ordering? You are faster than I thought and thank you for saving my ass on the Friday night I worked late and forgot to defrost anything.

2. Kiddo loves cucumber rolls. Very awesome. XD

3. Not having a car was a pain but saved my ass because since regular errands took so long, me and kiddo had quality time during the walks.

Addendum to #3? Lugging 3 cases of bottled water in a shopping cart is a pain in the ass… =_=

4. One kid is enough to entertain. My decision to stop at one (if I can help it) was very, very wise.

But it was cool hanging out with just me and the munchkin. I got no writing done but still; a lot of fun. 😉
