Today’s Workout: Hello carbs!

wp-1665596872558

I kinda took it easy on the desk peddler today as I could still feel some soreness from last weekend. For lunch I just had the same salad as last night but I had some fun with dinner.

I noticed the diced tomatoes were building up in the fridge so I cooked some tri color vegetable pasta, chopped up garlic and onion, sauteed them in olive oil and added the tomatoes. Simmer for a bit with some of the pasta water and top with some shredded Parmesan! You may feel like those onions aren’t cooked enough but I like my veggies crunchy. I kinda miss the garlic scrapes from Misfits Market but they haven’t had those in stock again.

It’s been awhile since I made pasta at home and it was super filling. I’m glad I split my old portion into two so I have lunch for tomorrow. It’s my late night so, I have to bring two meals. I plan to experiment a little… Cross your fingers I don’t make myself sick… Again.

Today’s Workouts: Dafuq is up with my camera…

wp-1663695104369

I did the desk peddler today as early as I could today but I didn’t have as much time as I would have hoped.

wp-1663695203070

This was today’s lunch but for some reason when I try to take a picture of my dinner, the camera decides it’s not gonna bother to save it. You’re just gonna have to believe me that I made chicken thigh pieces with garlic and broccoli. You’ll probably see it tomorrow as my lunch since I made a big batch.

I did my two workout apps and the stretching and I’m feeling okay about how today turned out. I was able to curb my salt to a reasonable degree and I’m officially out of any bad snacks I could have. I did miss making coffee this morning and it’s presence was sorely missed. Tomorrow morning we will be reunited.

Also, I’m still writing and editing; as you can tell from my dramatics.

Today’s Workouts: The bike and other stuff

wp-1663030903708

Since I’m trying to get more writing done, I’m back to the desk bike so I can type and peddle at the same time. That’s gonna have to be what I do while I get stories published so I can earn money for my NYCC cosplay. And also fit into my NYCC cosplay…

I wish I could somehow write and do crunches at the same time but, ah well. Sacrifices must be made.

I’ve also been listening to the inactivity alert I downloaded onto my smart watch and I’ve been able to get  3000 or more steps every day; which is up from a normal day of sitting around at a desk (I used to struggle to break 2000). Even if it’s just to get up and go look out the window, I do it so I’m active that much longer.

I did try on some dresses that were too tight on me before and they fit much better. One is actually too big (and I’m a little ticked off about that because I haven’t worn it out ONCE). Guess I’ll have to get me some safety pins or finally learn how to use Ma’s old sewing machine.

Today’s Workout: Back to the Bike

wp-1660603747681

Since I’m working on more writing, I waited until I got home to workout and used my desk bike. This uses an entirely different set of muscles than sitting in my office chair with the peddler. I actually sweat using the bike. But since the peddler is at work, it’s for the best not to sweat too much using that.

I forgot to do the bodyweight workouts because I had a nice long talk with my kid about internet safety and scams. Modern parenting, man… But my almost unhealthy amount of MLM and other scam content that I watch gave me the chance to educate my child who hopefully will let their friends know what to avoid. I’ll have to make up for missing those tomorrow with some extra kettlebell.

Getting back to the bike is me working up to getting back to running. I would like to start C25K up again before the end of the month then once that’s done, maybe to the 5k training within the Zombies Run app. Those are totally different beasts. The Zombies Run version makes sure you up your speed.

Maybe I’ll just do that one instead of C25K. We’ll see how it works out.

Today’s Workout: I was right…

I really should have continued to get up early enough to have breakfast. I’ve been slacking on that. Then again, this was the week of my period and I don’t sleep well. It takes a full dose of my anti-anxiety meds to even get to sleep and I don’t stay asleep. Therefore, I have to drag myself out of bed in the morning. I stay tired all day; not even Death Wish Coffee helps. I just muddle through until my hormones rebalance and I feel normal again. Which will be in a couple of days!

Tomorrow, I’ll get back to the bodyweight and kettlebell apps. I’m still stuck at 208 and I don’t want to lose my muscle definition. I can’t skip those days anymore. And, if I can get disciplined about my writing, I’ll be getting back to C25K very soon. I genuinely miss running and I want to get back to it.

Today’s Workouts and Camp NaNoWriMo Day 13

Of course today is more desk peddler and body weight workouts. I had to go a little easy because my hip is sore for some reason (don’t get old, kids) which serves to remind me why I’m working out in the first place: to be stronger as I age.

I am not entirely caught up but the words were flowing today. I think they’re mostly keepers as well. I tend to edit out a lot when I go back through but maybe I won’t need to do so much this time. It depends on how things continue. I’ve already deviated from my outline quite a bit and maybe this will turn out darker than I’d originally thought. Maybe I’ll add some more funny parts during the editing process to balance it out.

Today’s Workout: Gotta Catch Up…

wp-1657120546659

I made sure to get this workout in early so I can spend the rest of the day working on my book. I really pushed the pace to get more calorie burn and I’ll be doing the kettlebell later. Since I’m doing Camp NaNoWriMo, I am sitting more so it’s even more important to get more steps in and get my muscles moving. So far, I’ve had success with an alert popping up to tell me I need to get more steps in. I’m getting higher numbers but still not close to 5k a day. It’s getting so much easier, though, and it keeps me from hunching over the Freewrite all day.

Today’s Workout: So far so good?

wp-1656436019120

Yesterday I did do my bodyweight workouts but I will tell ya, I felt so freaking tired around 4pm, I called it a day, did all the stuff I needed to do, and went to bed early. I have no idea what happened. I got up early for a day off, did a few chores, then it was like someone flipped my night-night switch and all I wanted to do was sleep.

And yet, in some ultimate fuckery, I spent the night tossing and turning without actually getting any sleep.

But, thanks to coffee, I have a fair amount of energy today. I had a quick walk, did the above workout on my Wirk peddler, and I think I’ll have enough energy to grab the kettlebell after dinner.

Also, shameless self promotion, my new book is out in two days! If you’re one of my Patrons, you already got a sneak preview. This is the third in a complete trilogy and you will not have any idea what’s going on without reading one and two. Hope you check them out!

Today’s Workout: I need to change it up.

wp-1655830014210wp-1655830025354

I did my usual bike and took a walk on my lunch break to get a birthday cake for my kid but while that burned a bunch of calories, there are some fairly reputable trainers that I follow on Instagram and Tiktok that have been making me rethink my strategy completely. I am big on cardio, thinking the pure caloric burn will help my weight drop faster. I would throw in weights here and there but those trainers have been staying that it should be the other way around; about 75% weight training and 25% cardio. Whelp, I’m gonna give that a shot. Starting tomorrow, I’ll be doing more kettlebell and bodyweight workouts instead of cardio. I’ll still do cardio three times a week but I am hoping switching it up will help with my progress.

Today’s Workout: Yes, it’s short…

wp-1655746463260

I have one of those snazzy smart watches (not sponsored) and while I do enjoy it when it works, the battery life can be wonky. Some days it lasts from wake up to bed time. Others, it’s dead by lunch. Today was the latter. I thought I could squeeze in the full 30 minutes before it died but, not quite.

I have no problem taking some extra steps around the day to make up for that or take up the kettlebell for 15-20 minutes. I have been really trying to build muscle but I won’t lie, I’m tired at the end of the day and just wanna go to bed. But, I’ve put reminders in my phone to nag be to at least do a little every day. We’ll see how that goes since I am the type to respond to such reminders.
